- If the license is not in an English language format, then an international license is also required.
- Drivers’ names and licenses are recorded at the commencement of hire.
Deposit
- deposit of NZ$400 is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable at the time of pickup of your vehicle.
Hire Costs
- All hire costs are to be paid in full, prior to you taking delivery of the campervan. Payment may be made by Visa/Mastercard (which incurs 2% credit card fee). International bank transfers do not attract the bank fees.
Daily Rates
- Our day is a calendar day, not a 24-hour day. Vehicles are available from 9am on the day you commence your hire, and must be returned by 4pm on the day of return unless prior arrangements are made.
Cancellation Fee Schedule
-
- Cancelling up to 30 days prior to pick up of your campervan — 50% of your deposit
- Within 30 days of your pick up date — 100% of your deposit
Insurance, Excess/Bond, Exclusions
We charge $250 bond, and this is added to your credit card at the time of van collection. This is held for 1 month after you return the van and covers things like speeding fines (from roadside cameras), tolls, parking and camping fines. Copies of any traffic offence notices that arrive after your departure will be provided.
Comprehensive insurance cover is included in the daily hire charges.
- We charge a maximum of $6000 excess on campervan claims for damages to the vehicle.
- You can take extra insurance to cover the excess, although this is not mandatory as it may be covered by your credit card insurance, or travel insurance already. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen occasionally so please be prepared. For the most part, the amount charged is enough to cover the repairs.
- Insurances do not cover:
- water submersion
- serious damage to tyres caused by driving while a tyre is flat due to a puncture
- willful damage
- damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- costs to retrieve a bogged or stranded vehicle
